Do I need to add custom JSON-LD if Wix already creates structured data for me?

Wix automatically outputs some structured data for Blog, Stores, Events and other app pages, and the SEO panel includes using structured data markup for rich results. Add custom markup via Velo when you need types Wix does not combine, like Service plus FAQPage on the same page. When you do, provide it as a list of structured data objects in the JSON-LD format as defined by schema.org and keep it identical to visible copy.

What is the difference between allowing OAI-SearchBot and GPTBot in my Wix robots.txt?

They control different uses and are documented as OAI-SearchBot and GPTBot. OAI-SearchBot powers live search grounding and citations in ChatGPT, while GPTBot is used for model training data collection. On Wix you can Allow one and Disallow the other in the Robots.txt Editor if you want citation eligibility without training usage.

How do I ensure my Wix page has only one H1 when I use lots of sections and strips?

In the Wix Editor or Studio Editor select each text block and set its tag under Text Settings to Heading 1 through Heading 6. Assign a single H1 to the main page title, then use H2s for core question headings and H3s for sub-points. That explicit tag assignment creates the HTML hierarchy AI parsers rely on.

Can I reuse my first answer paragraph as the meta description?

You can, but it is better to write a distinct one. In Wix the default is Your page's description, and the field is the short description that appears in search results. Make it factual and self-contained with the primary query, because AI summarizers often lift it when no direct answer block is found.

Does blocking CSS or JavaScript files in robots.txt hurt AI citation chances?

Yes. If you block CSS or JS, AI crawlers may not render the content and will skip extraction. Keep your sitemap reference intact and do not block files needed to render the page. Wix by default allows search engine bots to access all of your site's pages so only add Disallows for specific bots you intend to limit.

If my Wix page answers several related questions, should I split it into multiple pages?

Keep the page if each H2 can stand alone as a quotable block with an answer in the first 1 to 3 sentences. Split into separate pages when each question has distinct search intent and deserves its own title tag, meta description and slug. Your default title is Your page name and site name, so splitting also gives you precise, query-matching titles.

How do I test whether AI engines will actually cite my Wix page?

Build a small library of 3 to 5 prompts that reflect the exact question your page should own. Test each prompt on ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google Gemini, and Google AI Overviews using incognito or private browsing to avoid personalization, then log if your domain appears. For Perplexity, [go to perplexity.ai and enter your query, check whether your domain appears in the list](https://www.airops.com/blog/how-to-test-content-v

What does the URL slug have to do with being source-friendly?

The slug is the last part of the page's URL and is one of the strongest signals for topic clarity. A clean, keyword-reflective slug helps both traditional search and AI answer engines understand what the page answers. Keep it short, readable, and aligned with your H1 and title tag.
